Color Grading Case Study:
ACID NOIR (short film, 2022)
Acid Noir is a stylish psychosexual thriller, currently in post-production and scheduled to come out summer 2022. It is my 2nd Year Film as an MFA filmmaking student at the NYU Tisch School of the Arts.
In addition to being the writer and director of the film, I am also the editor and colorist. It is a visually intense film, heavy on color and lighting.
Below you will find several stills from the film in different forms, showing the comparison between the raw Log C footage, the generic LUT to Rec. 709, and the result of my color grading in DaVinci Resolve (it's still a work in progress).
