DSK Home Animation
Since we’re talking about a website and we’re reaching most customers online on their mobile device, this was our starting point. We were going to present all steps into the phone screen, but then we needed more dimension. 3D gave us more space, perspective, and a bigger playground.
Storyboard
The rough pencil sketch storyboard was our first milestone. It gave us the backbone of all that was to come and helped us estimate the timing of each scene.
Stylistic approach
Once we found the right track with the storytelling, we were left with creating the visual world and establishing all details. We chose rounded shapes and focused on refining the models, and selecting the colour palette, materials, and textures to finalise the look. The finishing touches were the lightening and final polishing. Key step to finding the right approach was motion testing and camera movement. This ultimately led to achieving the same clean, yet dynamic animation look&feel throughout the whole animation.
Styleframe & Animation
To make it more subtle and yet keep the phone as a key actor both literally and metaphorically in every scene, we integrated it as part of every action and scene. As a result, we have a friendly and playful animation, where all the action revolves around the device and spills in front of your eyes effortlessly.
