Where We Live and Who We Are / 包裹着的我的存在

The whole project is a set of self-publishing publications. It consists of six separate and interconnected books. It is an exploration of the environment I live in and my perception of myself in the past six months. In this exploration, I have tried to appreciate the environment I live in, to change the environment I live in, and to know the meaning of self.

In the first book, “Essential Lifestyle”, I use paper to record my day as I go through it. The traces on the paper are the topography of life. When I touch these traces, it is like reading a diary and re-experiencing those traces of life that are difficult to notice.
The second book, “Westfell”, is an exploration of my perception of the living environment, a discussion of the relationship between shopping malls and the city, and a commemoration of the Grenfell fire in London, in which the Westfield shopping guide was redesigned. It is a shift from consumerism to anti-consumerism. Through this shift, I hope to slow down the pace of development and reflect on the relationship between commerce and urban space.
The third book, “Dialogue with Stones”, is a record of one of my performances. In this performance, I had five conversations with different stones. The five stones from different parts of the city tell me how they feel about the city. It is also a continuation of my exploration of the relationship between me, the city and nature.
The fourth book, “Enlighten”, is a record of my reflections on the meaning of creation and my questioning of the meaning of self. In this practice, I have invented a new lamp based on the light bulb. In this invention, the only person who makes a change is "me" as part of the setting. The effects of the invention, whether 'good' or harmful, are all caused by me. And I, as part of the installation, suffer some of the consequences.
The fifth book, “Black Sun”, is more like a denial of my past/history. I found some “killed negatives” in an online museum. These killed negatives are real pictures of a history that has been selectively forgotten. When they are reassembled by me, a forgotten story is created. In the midst of this, the reliability of the images seems to be challenged. Does this story really exist? And what secrets are hidden by the black dots?
The last book, “Me, Me”, is an exploration of my own existence and meaning. At a workshop, an image of my full body was unconsciously plastered with people's own feelings about their life, which symbolised the situation of myself I was feeling. In a subsequent performance, I was hidden behind a curtain, then it is as if my existence is denied. This is the human being, this is me, who has to be attached to human relationships to exist. How can I prove my existence? I cannot prove it. I am there, but you cannot be sure that I am there.
