PEOPLE OF THE HIGH PLAINS
* * *
An editorial portrait series project in progress depicting historical figures from a vanishing way of life on the land during the nineteenth century. Each portrait is designed to emerge from the sky like a distant memory.

"Ghost of the Plains"
3x 3 Magazine Award of Merit 2023 Annual Show
"Ghost of the Plains" is a depiction of an anonymous spirit inspired from a historical photo from the nineteenth century. While the young woman is unknown I wanted to honor her spirit placing her in the landscape like a ghost that will forever dwell in that place. The geometric style blends her identity into the clouds making her an organic element in the vastness of the sky.
