Michigan's Legendary HS Coaches Book Cover and Spread Illustrations
Book cover and inside spread commission featuring coach Al Fracassa and three fellow legendary coaches. Al Fracassa who is featured on the cover had 44 seasons with Birmingham's Brother Rice school in Birmingham Michigan.
The four most winningest Michigan High School coaches' likenesses were done in the style of Mt Rushmore using a geometric approach. The project was commissioned in my quilted illustration style. The style is based on the chiseled portrait style I developed over the last several years. This portrait technique involves using layer blend modes in Photoshop in a way that causes bright blue, green, red, yellow, and violet to interact with each other producing the final skin tones without actually creating a realistic skin tone-a kind of digital impressionism.
