Reconsturction Series-Sofa
What is a sofa? What is the definition of it? Should we name an item “sofa” when it looks like one or when it functions as one? What shall we call it when the sofa components of cushions, backs, arms and even the floor mat are remodeled?
In daily life there are not a few people who tend to sit on the mat in front of the sofa, with their back against the sofa, rather than on the sofa cushion. In response to this necessity, we made the original sofa cushion shortened and transformed it into a small countertop. The mat that is part of the sofa now serves as the “actual” cushion and the original cushion as the back. Our remodeled product of this sofa-appearing article that is not a real sofa refreshes the functions of sofa.

重塑系列—沙发
什么是沙发？我们如何定义一个沙发？是因为它看起来像沙发，还是功能要像沙发，我们才能叫它沙发呢？如果把坐垫、靠背、扶手这些元素重塑之后，我们叫它什么呢？
在日常生活中，存在一个群体，他们往往不是坐在沙发坐垫上，而是喜欢坐在地毯上，背靠着沙发。在这样的情景下，坐垫、靠背、扶手甚至地面的地毯都有了全新的功能属性。因此，我们把沙发原本的坐垫缩短，变成只能储物的台面，将真实的坐垫变为地毯并与沙发融为一体，原本坐垫的立面变为靠背。最终，这个看起来像沙发，却不是沙发的物体，重塑了一个沙发的全新功能。
