Verduras Tea House: Identity Case Study

Brief: I refreshed the identity of a local restaurant and designed a brand guide. Verduras Tea House & Cafe is an evolving dining location with a focus on fresh, quality and healthy foods. Verduras has been serving the vegan and vegetarian community of Milwaukee since 2011. Verduras offers an all vegetarian menu, specializing in sandwiches, soups, desserts, bakery and tea brews from around the globe.

Objectives: To create excellent, local foods that are healthy. Their unique menu with great tasting, healthy food is their strength and what separates them from competitors. Consumers will choose Verduras because it offers authentic, healthy foods that they cannot find in other restaurants.
 
Analysis: Verduras Tea House and Cafe requires an identity that reflects their dedication to creating delicious food that is good for you. The identity should also embody the exotic aspects of their menu that many competitors lack. 
 
Solutions: The Verduras identity combines the orginal Asian styling with a modern and fresh, yet organic, appearance. The color palette is eye-catching and creates a distinguished look. The free-flowing wave dividing the logo provides a yin and yang effect and the vibrant, green leaf adds a naturistic touch. Together, these design elements emulate the natural, exotic essence and the healthy, innovative objectives of Verduras. The simplicity and personality of the modified design, compared to the intricate, less-legible original, will ultimately allow Verduras to match the visual presence of its competitors.
