This project is a re design of an album cover art inspired by the record label Young Gods.
Chosen Artist

Jasmine Lucilla Elizabeth Jennifer van den Bogaerde, better known by her stage name Birdy, is an English singer, songwriter, musician and multi-instrumentalist. She rose to stardom in 2011 for her cover of Bon Iver’s “Skinny Love.” The album Beautiful Lies captures a Birdy who is growing older, wiser, and more haunted by life’s experiences. Both audibly and lyrically more upbeat, it took an inspirational route as opposed to the darker piano ballads she’s known for. “It’s about finding a light in the dark and having the strength to hold on to it and overcome the times when we feel completely lost,” she said. The album was released on March 25th, 2016.

Genre
Alternative, Indie Folk, Indie Pop, Folk Pop

Target Audience
Females between the age of 18-30+

What her music communicates
Her music is about growing up and not accepting change. It's about not really wanting to grow up; it's about lying to yourself. She had missed a lot of growing up with her family, so it's about that.
Front cover
The concept is growth and the coming of age. A child in black in white to symbolise being young. The flowers and butterflies blooming out of her head symbolise growth and stepping into adulthood.
Back cover
The back cover is an illustration of a lotus flower. This particular flower is known to grow even in the swampiest conditions. This symbolises that although growth can be uncomfortable, it can also be beautiful thing.
