Reflection for task 1&2 ;

When completing task one and two of the Shape and Color project I preferred using the paintbrush and pencil components when creating the shadowing and highlighting and midtones, my reason being that the sunlight reflecting on the dog appeared jagged on the fur which was easier to manipulate finer tools. I kept to the neutral colors with the alteration of adding green tones in the neck tie and making the shadows a deep brown rather than gray to keep the creative piece warm and correlating in color choice. I enjoyed the playing with the  broad range of strokes sizes to give the fur the mix of fur colouring greater definition. What I found my bigger challenge was when transferring the animal of to the scarf the paint seemed to stand out at greater quantity than the outline of the animal.

Scarf description

My scarf concept was inspired by the Antrim Coast in Ireland where dinosaur bones where discovered in 1980.The the base pattern of the scarf displays piled stones near the body of water on the Giant's Causeway. Two of the scarfs corners are covered with Irish wild flowers called Sea Asters - the star of the sea, that grow on Irelands coastline. The center of the scarf displays a Sea Aster growing in  a pile of dinosaur bones stacked in different directions while the dog at contrasting corners has carried off a bone to his side.
