Wallich
Among the clouds, a home above the rest.
Located on level 60 of Singapore’s tallest building, this show unit at Wallich Residence brings to mind the imagery of a boundless sky revealed upon breaking through the canopy of a concrete jungle below.
We turned to the condo’s namesake botanist Nathaniel Wallich for inspiration and found ourselves envisioning a castle in the clouds supported by the grandiose buttress roots of wise old trees.
A light colour scheme accentuates the light flooding the space through the full-height windows running the length of the apartment. The use of dark-toned materials in areas facing away from the light creates a contrast that accentuates said brightness while also creating clearly defined zones without the use of walls. Gentle curves feature generously throughout the space in a gesture that seems to softly wrap its occupants in a soft embrace.
