Climbing Himalayan Mountains
This visualisation shows a summary of data stores in the himalayan database (himalayandatabase.com). It starts with a timeline of expedition members who died in the course of their adventure, followed by the year of the first successful expedition for the 10 most climbed peaks which are shown in the map at the bottom. Given that the climbing tourism increased since the 1990's, also an age distribution and number of hired Nepali Citizens for expeditions is showcased in a plot.
