The Victimology of Domestic Violence in Switzerland
This datavisualization tries to tackle a taboo subject in Switzerland: Domestic violence and its victims. In this project, I mined through data from the Swiss federal office for statistics, translated all attributes from german to english and tried to deliver the following information: The reported victims of domestic violence in 2019, split in a female and male group and their share in age groups along 3 broad offense categories. It is not surprising but still frightening to see how many more women were victims of domestic violence along all offenses and age groups (which nevertheless does not mean that male persons cannot fall victim to domestic violence).
