The Challenge
Create a commercial activation with the theme of "psychology of color" to activate customer traffic in the Viva shopping mall in the city of Barranquilla in Colombia
The solution
680m² of interactive spaces where the the visitors go through a serie of color-themed spaces, and at the end they can define their personality color through a digital test app.
It is a 360 experience, that includes merchandising items during and at the end of the path.
Details:
It was installed inside 3 commercial premises on the mall top floor in March 2020. The event will rotate to other cities for 3-4 years.
Materials: the modules are built with metal structure, covered with polyester lycra. The interior objects are made of different materials such as wood, fabric, fiberglass, inflatables, adhesives, pholstery, foam, acrylic, mirrors and plastic balls. It also includes lighting, sound and electronic devices installation.
The process
The design process consisted in a conceptualization based in the color psychology, story creation to connect the path, references research, sketching, 3d modeling and rendering proposals for client presentations, quotation and production plans, production and assembly supervision.
The challenges in the process
The design process was long and complex, gone through multiple iterations facing constant and what seemed like endless corrections from the client even at critical moments in the middle of the production phase🙃
Trying to balance customer wishes with viability, technical and economical feasibility, we only managed to overcome it as a team, supporting each other even through the toughest times.
Here some process renderings, some ideas never saw the light of day, but were crucial in the process of developing and growing as designers, as we wrung our brains to the last drop of creativity 🤯🧠✨
