OPERATION: VARSITY BLUES (NETFLIX, 2021)

In late 2020, Elastic presented me with the opportunity to work on design and animation for Netflix's original documentary film, 'Operation: Varsity Blues - The College Admissions Scandal'. I was responsible for helping to create the investigative look and feel for various graphics throughout the film, as well as the treatment of the title sequence.

The title sequence shows Rick Singer going about his daily routine, but behind the scenes he's using Photoshop to alter images of kids so they could gain entry to prestigious colleges. We decided to screen record the process of altering the photos in Photoshop, and then I filmed it off of a 4K monitor using a ultra macro lens to give it a voyeuristic style, as if we're peering over the shoulder of Rick Singer while he's doing it. It allowed us to get a realistic look to the screen texture and have the tactility of real camera lens blur.
