This digital illustration is the original inspiration for the second painting in the six-painting series called The Quest. Source imagery includes my own photography of Chicago and an image from the 1952 film The Earrings of Madame De. The final painting, entitled "The Guide, in Orange" became an abstract piece which combines orange and red color combinations with an underdrawing in charcoal of this image.
