Lambda Gamma Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi

The Lambda Gamma chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi at Winthrop University chose me graphic designer for 2013. For entire year, I was responsible for designing the advertising materials for their most popular events.

Kappa Week, the most important event, was a week long initiative that promoted the Kappa Alpha Psi standards and ended with new members joining the chapter.

The Kappas only request was for me to incorporate a picture of each member to represent a day and to have the colors red, white, and black. They gave me free reign on the design. I created 2 different versions of the i.K.A.R.E. flyer so that they would have variety to distribute around campus. The flyer below is the second design.

The flyers shown above were also done for the Kappas of Winthrop. As you can see, I was able to work with a lot of different techinques for this design. This was one of my hardest projects because I am struggling a bit with layering and blending certain photos.

The flyer on the right was my original concept. Using layer masks, I was easily able to make something look appealing but my client had something a little different in mind. They essentially wanted me to create a flyer with an animal lurking through an attractive young woman and give it a sexy, edgy look that was still appropriate to be placed around campus. The flyer on the right is the finished result.
The flyer shown above is the flyer they requested for an event that they held during their Spirit Week, where young ladies on campus had the chance to mimic the Kappas. The flyer on the left was the original version, but I was asked to use different visuals. The flyer you see on the right is the finished version.
This flyer was created for the 2014 Kappa Alpha Psi Event Week. The Kappas wanted their theme to look like the TV Guide Channel to showcase how their events relate to the networks. I really enjoyed working on this project because I used a different technique using vector masks instead of cropping. It saved a lot of time and was easier to manipulate when I needed to make changes.
