台北美國學校圖書館是一個將數位裝置帶入傳統圖書館的嘗試．專案規劃了四項互動裝置：世界新聞牆，新書資訊牆，問勸調查，圖書館行事曆．

Taipei American School library project brings digital installations to library . This project includes 4 installations: world news atlas , new arrivals , questionaire kiosk and library calendar.

新聞牆因處於圖書館入口位置，是其中最重要的裝置．主要的挑戰在於，要如何在極度有限的資源（ RSS）下設計出一個能夠吸引年輕學生注意力的介面．經過幾次失敗的嘗試後，我們轉向以資訊圖像的角度切入．
News Atlas is the most important installation among all because it's right at the entrace of library. Our task is to design an attracted user interface with RSS which provides VERY limited content in order to attract young students' attention on world news. After several failure puroposals, we try a different approach : infographic.

RSS能提供的資訊非常有限

介面主體為一24小時的圓圈，內圈有九項新聞類別，程式會讀取來自BBC的新聞RSS內容，將新聞條目被發佈的時間與所屬類別連線，並在線段中點呈現出該新聞的標題，同時左方會呈現出該新聞的詳細內文．背景為該類別新新聞的縮時影片．

The main part of this user interface is a colourful circle indicates time , 24 hours,  and nine world news catagories. The program reads RSS content from BBC website and makes a line starting from the time when it's published to catagory it belongs to and shows the tittle of that news in the middle of the line. You can also read full content on the left. The background is nine different timelapse videos according to different catagories. 

例如14:25時發佈了 "US carrier to boost typhoon effort."的新聞，裝置會將14:25所在的園環位置與所屬新聞類別亞州新聞連線，在線段中點呈現新聞標題，左方則可閱讀詳細內容．同時背景變換成亞州代表城市的縮時影片．

For example , news "US carrier to boost typhoon effort" was published at 14:25 and this installation made a line starting from time 14:25 and to  catagory Asia News and show the tittle in the middle of the line. In the same time you can read full content at left side and the background changed into the timelapse video of Asia iconic cities.
