Paper Moth
Mechanical paper moth is a personal project of mine that was born as a result of my passion for kirigami and experimenting with frames, as well as my love for trees and stained glass windows.
Below you can observe some of the steps of my process - starting with an initial idea sketch, to designing and making of the separate element, as well as a blick on the assembly progress.
The moth is constructed of 8 layers of paper, and the tree branches frame is made of 10 separate elements.
The whiskers were chewed by my cat in the process, hence the unintentional chewed look, sorry for that.
