Saadat Hassan Manto's "Sadke Is Ke"

A story of a brothel owner stating that he had lost all his money due to the Pakistan-India partition but thanks God that he has earned it back because business has been doing well. Manto comments on the hypocrisy of a society that promotes an evil, yet is grateful to God for the existence of it. Another interpretation could be that everything is not black and white and people are not all good or all bad.
