Percy Jackson Book Jackets

Below is a re-designed book jacket of some of Rick Riordan's New York Times Best Seller, the Percy Jackson Series. I was able to really explore a new illustrative style that this series hasn't seen before and create some creatures that were all mentioned inside of the book. On current Percy Jackson books in stores, the main focal point on each cover is Percy Jackson himself. I wanted to stray away from this aspect because there is so much inside of this book when it comes to mythology and imagination. By having illustrated creatures instead of Jackson, it allows people to get a better feel for the world as they start reading it.

These book jackets were also created as a triptych. Starting with book 1 and ending with book 3, when all three jackets are aligned together, it creates a full scene that shows the journey from the depths of the book, to the land on earth, to the blue in the skies. With this triptych, it proves to be a good marketing tool because consumers are able to purchase all three books and create a cohesive poster in their own homes, or admire them while they read the books.
