O Barracão is a neo-traditional restaurant located in Vagos,Aveiro. Their focus is to join traditional portuguese cuisine with a rustic and cosy vibe, yet always following modern tendencies to comunicate and exist beyond their fisical space for a closer relationship with their clients and visitors. This restaurant has more than 20 years and their founders even a longer relationship with the catering industry. All these years the restaurant has always been evolving in terms of service, the menu and the restaurants physical space, becoming one of the main cuisine references in the area.
Our relationship with this brand is very close since we rebranded the restaurant in 2014 and have been working together since, being an ongoing branding and brand management project. They already had a digital presence but this time the challenge was to create something more like a space, an experience and an extension of the restaurant in a virtual kind of way. Something more than just a great website, with the pursue of making it a suitable tool for their visitors to know the restaurant, easily find menus and info, and feel the great vibe and history of the place.
We chose a very clean and dinamic approach using real photos of the products, the restaurant and the people. Animations to give life to some interactive items adding that joyfull vibe of the restaurant. Kept a well divided structure so that everything was easily reachable and memorized, mixed this all with the feeling we were going to cook something special... and we did.
