166 Million Years in the Making

166 Million Years in the Making
A unique land in the making since the time of the dinosaurs during the Jurassic period's Middle Epoch, more than 166 million years ago. A land of hoodoos, arches, rock protrusions, slot canyons, sandy, desert landscapes and dark, night skies. The natural arches and other formations were created, and continue to be shaped, by the natural processes of weathering and erosion. This is a protected area in southern Utah and it was one of the last areas mapped in the continental United States because of its remoteness and rugged landscape.
