You're looking at one of the rarest cars in all of Porsche's history. The 1955 Porsche 550 Spyder. The 550 is amongst the first cars that set the precedent for forging Porsche's outstanding history in sports car racing. From 1953 to 1956, just 90 of these mid-engined, four-cylinder cars were made for both on-road and on-track purposes. Throughout its life, the 550 took sports car victories at the Nürburgring Nordschleife, the 24 Hours of Le Mans, the Targa Florio, and the Carrera Panamericana - in fact, it was the latter that inspired the name for the 911 Carrera.
