Mural proposal 2021

The proposed mural depicts all things important to Henderson with special ties to Water Street District. It’s history is rich with artifacts, national landmarks and important figures. From the smallest fossils to native flora and fauna (desert sagebrush, bristlecone pine, desert bluebird, bighorn sheep) and artifacts (unique fossils, Native American art and culture), to national figures (Magnesium Maggie and city’s own namesake Sen. Charles B. Henderson), water is the connecting thread in Henderson’s history that is rich and interesting with much to learn and discover.
Part of the goal of Water Street District rebranding is to provide public art that is of significant interest to the public. The proposed mural reflects the Water Street District character and invites residents and visitors to ponder the iconography that represents all things Henderson and learn it’s history.
