Linda Jamieson Brings Decades of Expertise to Her Dance

Operating in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada, the Linda Jamieson School of Dance teaches multiple styles of dance to local elementary and high school students. The Linda Jamieson School of Dance, founded by the accomplished dancer, choreographer, and teacher of the same name, has developed students' athletic skills and self-confidence for over 30 years. Ms. Jamieson’s decades of experience and teaching credentials allow her to instruct her students effectively.

Starting at the age of 5, Ms. Jamieson displayed great skill in ballet, jazz, and tap dancing, as well as musical theater. She began competing when she was 10 years old. By the time she turned 17, she had won 12 competitions at the regional, national, and international levels.

Ms. Jamieson holds two BAs, in psychology and English, and theological studies. She is a member of London England’s Royal Academy of Dance, and holds its Teaching Certificate with Distinction. She developed her music theater background through 12 years of study under choreographers known for their work on Broadway. Drawing on this training, she went on to choreograph dozens of musicals at the Earl of March Secondary School. After 20 years as the Ottawa Carleton District School Board’s dance educator, and annual petitions to Ontario’s Ministry of Education, Ms. Jamieson succeeded in making dance a legitimate subject in the province’s schools.
