“Go With the Flow” mural proposal to the city of Henderson, NV.
The City of Henderson asked local artists to submit designs for a mural that would reflect the water theme of Water Street District and include the rich history and ongoing evolution of a growing downtown area.
The mural design connects depicted desert dwellers through subtle water imagery. The kit fox and the rattlesnake are drawn in a minimalistic style to invoke petroglyph designs of Native Americans. Subtle water imagery can be found in the design including the window on the left hinting at a ripple in the water and the background clouds as stylized water in motion.
The mural fits into the Water Street District brand by employing creative imagery that creates a sense of a place where the old (native Mojave desert flora and fauna) meets the new (the viewer and the community center itself).
