This animation was created as part of the European Research Council (ERC) funded project: Our Mythical Childhood... The Reception of Children's and Young Adults' Culture in Response to Regional and Global Challenges (Grant Agreement 681202; ERC Consolidator Grant led by Professor Katarzyna Marciniak).
The animation was created with Dr. Sonya Nevin from a hydria that was made in Athens in around 450BCE. The vase is housed in the National Museum in Warsaw, in Poland (number 142289).
I took photos around the vase and used them to recreate the vase and textures in 3d. The image of Iris was cut out, animated in 2d, and then applied to the vase as a texture.
The music is by Prof. Conrad Steinmann.
