LISTLANDI
“I am from Listlandi,” land neverland that was once upon a time created by two collectors, when they combined vision with a word. When naming it, they realized that list translates into art in Icelandic. Then they added the word land, a country. The neologism is concluded with the letter ”i”, giving it a more pleasant illustration. To one collector the ”i“ stands for Iceland, whereas for the other it indicates inflexion, frá Listlandi, from Listlandi. A landi would also be a fellow countryman. Therefore, Listlandi is an artistic list describing the resplendence of Iceland. It is a collection of names from maps, a linguistic project about Icelandic language, a natural scientific encyclopedia, a minimalistic piece of art, multilingual reading, and a tourist guidebook. It was made for all the searchers, travelers, artistic souls, secret-keepers and lovers, lovers of Iceland, maps, maps of Iceland, and language oddities. In a way, for all of us.
