This is one of my latest book cover design work. I am very grateful to have been chosen to do it, but mostly for its meaning. I put, as always, a lot of love into this design and I'm sure I've made it.
HUMBLED BY THE JOURNEY
I designed the cover of the book and the leather cover especially at the request of the entrepreneur and author Mike Fernandez. It was kind of funny because the photographer took the front cover picture very early in the morning and all of Mike's clothes were immaculately clean and ironed. That was not the idea. Mike was making a pilgrimage on the Camino de Santiago, from Portugal to Santiago de Compostela in Spain on foot, and it was not logical that his clothes were so clean or perfect. A serious work of photoshop was done to correct the original photo of the good photographer.
LA CAMPANA DEL ALBA
it's a design that I enjoyed especially because I love designing book covers for children and also because the author is a Cuban political prisoner who spent more than twenty years in Cuban prisons just for his political ideas and in those years he created multiple works of poetry and stories for children. It is incredible that in such humiliating and difficult conditions a human being is capable of overflowing in creativity and feeling to make such human works as stories and poems for children.
