GHOST SKULL
In-Camera VFX

These graphical animations were created by Christopher Webb at FX WRX using an
in-camera process which animates physical objects one frame at a time, via computer- controlled robotics. During each frame of animation, the camera creates a blur effect by moving while the shutter is open.

Here, a skull was filmed using this technique and dynamic lighting effects. It was captured with a one-of-a-kind large format robotic camera system developed by Chris and his team. This work is part of their ongoing exploration of the magic of in-camera visual effects and cinematography.
