Client
Berberè was founded in 2010 with the mission of serving delicious artisan pizza made only with live sourdough, easily digestible and with no frills in a stylish yet cozy environment. Organic, quality ingredients are their only gospel. Today the chain owns 14 pizzerias in Italy and 1 in London.

Challenge
For Berberè's third Turin opening in the Porta Palazzo district, the challenge was to differentiate the new restaurant from the two existing ones while at the same time ensuring a strong, immediately recognizable brand identity. 

Our solution 
To design the look & feel of the restaurant we combined the brand's characterizing elements - including the colorful wood paneling, exposed raw brickwork and large-sized wall paintings - with traditional local ones telling the history of the city, especially through the pictures on the walls. A vintage look and bold pop colors add liveliness to the walls of the two-story restaurant. On the ground floor, a circular opening in the ceiling becomes a magical circle with beautiful spinning yellow pinwheels designed by visual artists To / Let to be gazed at from below like constellations.



Look and feel
Each place has its own history, and when designing moodboards for Berberè we always work closely with architecture studio Ghersi-Slooten to keep it alive and integrate it into the pop world of Berberè pizzerias.
Neon lights and signs as well as bright, contemporary colors decorate ancient vaulted ceilings, terrazzo floorings and old inn-style shiny wood paneling.
