PALM PLANTATION
MALAYSIA
The palm oil industry in Malaysia has a long history, dating back to the early 20th century. It was initially introduced as a ornamental plant, but in the late 1960s, the government saw its potential as a commercial crop and began promoting its cultivation. Today, Malaysia is one of the largest producers and exporters of palm oil in the world, and the industry is a major contributor to the country's economy. However, the rapid expansion of the industry has also led to environmental concerns, such as deforestation and the destruction of habitats for wildlife. The Malaysian government has implemented policies to promote sustainable palm oil production, but there is still much work to be done to address the impact of the industry on the environment.
Witnessing how this palm oil was planted and harvested is an extraordinary experience to me. This "forest" is the humble starting point for many high-tech products. Enjoy!
