The Client

Mountair is a team of highly qualified professionals with vast experience in the design and construction of timber houses. Mountair is based in Bergen, Norway, and operates in a full cycle from harvesting and processing timber to laying the foundation and building turnkey houses with utility systems. They have their own production: a woodworking factory, transport logistics, and much more, which allows them to take a firm position in the market.

The Objective

The Mountair team approached us with a request to research the timber frame market from a visual point of view. The task was to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of competitors and select the best solutions for their own implementation while keeping the values and the main message for the target audience. It was important to put together and translate the client's ideas using our vision and experience in branding development and create a distinctive and trusting brand identity for Mountair.

The Mission

Mountair believes in the future of timber frame technology and is committed to promoting and developing this area. The main approach is based on the use of the latest modified construction technique in addition to the most modern and efficient building materials. All elements are collected directly on the construction site. This technology allows in a short time to form the necessary building with a high degree of energy efficiency, environmental friendliness, and durability.

The Meaning

Mountair is the name composed of two words, Mountains and Air. The construction technology used by the company is the applying of extremely high-quality wood as well as natural building materials. Mountair is lightness and freshness. It is the clean air surrounding your house and giving freedom. It is the reliability expressed in the strength and power of the mountains.

Design Idea

The logo expresses reliability and confidence through stylized mountains. In an additional sense, the mark symbolizes the roof, as well as the stylized letter M, which is the first in the name of the company. The whole design is based on geometric construction, including subtleties similar to designing a house.

The Direction

The frame technology is that the walls of the house are constructed of load-bearing elements between which the insulation is placed. After a lot of research, we came to the conclusion that this concept most successfully fits into the intention of the Mountair team. Thus, the beams on which the entire structure of the future house will be built became part of the corporate identity in the form of 8 long rectangles. Their arrangement is vertical at the same distance relative to each other. It hit right on target, since the frame is the heart of the house and its foundation. The simplicity of execution, but distinctiveness, played 100%.

The Solution

Upon completion of the project, the Mountair team received a complete brand identity package including logo, business card, ID badge, letterhead, envelope, t-shirt, outdoor advertising, social media, vehicle wraps, and website. All this was enshrined in a set of rules in the form of brand guidelines so that anyone interacting with the company could do it right.
