"Definition of addiction" Dr. Gabor Maté

Over the past decade, I have lent Dr. Gabor Mate’s books to at least 8 different households. I use this word because often the original receiver would pass it onto a family member, thus the amount of people it actually reached is unknown to me. Especially my copy of When The Body Says No, written on the relationship between stress and illness, has exchanged quite a few hands. Mate’s work (comprising the aforementioned subject, addiction, trauma, and child development) is so clear, logical, and deeply based on research (of course) that it’s been upturning the furniture in people’s minds. At least in mine and in the 8 other household’s.
Attempting to write a one paragraph summary about someone whose work I’ve been following for over 10 years is immensely difficult because there’s simply too much to condense and cruelly leave out - not mentioning the personal connection I developed with it.

So, I’ll stop here but let me know if you want to borrow.
