The objective of the assignment was to research and analyze the brand of a print magazine, then develop several strategies for translating the print magazine onto the iPad. The strategy I pursued was aimed toward creative professionals who seek project-specific inspiration from old and new issues of Communication Arts. To demonstrate this, the attached video follows a designer's path through the application as he searches for examples of coffee packaging to inspire his own designs for a new local coffee company. Rather than rifling through old print issues of CA or sorting though design blogs for quality work, this designer can quickly and easily search through CA's fifty years of content to find exactly what he is looking for. The application also accesses fresh content updated in real time for general daily inspiration and staying current.
