In this project I experiment —and still in progress— with the traditional Thuluth Script in Arabic Calligraphy. The idea revolves around creating parallel geometric strokes along the spine of the letter, instead of the traditional chiseled calligraphy pen.

I also tested this technique with rounded tips, which turned out to look smooth and lightweight. The Thuluth Script also features flexibility with the "swash" effect, which was aesthetically pleasing in this experiment.

Because it is a parallel path of the spine, it was easy to manipulate the stroke width and style, creating bold, regular, and light strokes. It was also possible to create in-line strokes —but I didn't like the result all that much.
