X-Plast was involved in the project from the early concept phase. Our responsibility included the conceptual part design, material selection, simulation aided development and injection molding as well. For the product designers, the biggest challange was to create a design which has extensive compatibility for multiple insulin pens, while maintiaining a common design DNA throughout the product family. The design team worked closely with plastic specialists to meet the highest requirements. While the engineers prepared the RTM models, the design team continued to work on the user interactions with the packaging and mobile app to enhance the ease-of-use and maximize the user experience.
