inspired by Earth’s rotation

 

This project was a 3rd. year studio 

project developed in 2009.

 

 

The idea behind the project was to create a lighting which will give the feeling of calming and relaxation.  For that reason, I inspired by the colours of sunset and the rotational movement of the Earth. The sun moves from east to west and sets due to the rotation of the Earth. When I observed people 

watching sunset, I see them feeling calm, relaxed and in peace.

To create a lighting to give that sort of feeling was the aimed for this project. Solar light was constructed out of 
metal. Three rings were place one within the other. Only the middle one contains a LED yellow light and the 
other two are the ones which rotate. The top and the innermost rings have rotor called disco ball to provide them the rotation movement. The top ring rotor is placed inside the base part and the innermost ring rotor is placed right under the ring. LED electricity passes inside the middle tube.
