Deadstock Coffee
If you want to be seen in Old Town, or even Portland, Deadstock Coffee is the place to go. Ian Williamson, the mastermind behind Deadstock, has created a sneaker culture hot spot that's gained quite the following. As a devoted fan of Ian's work, I was thrilled to have the opportunity to create a scene that captures Deadstock’s unique vibe.
My challenge was to craft a photograph that vividly depicts the process of making coffee. This brilliant idea sprouted from the creative mind of the very talented Production Manager Rachelle Lazenby. We spent weeks meticulously capturing each element of this image. From customizing the cow creamer, to constructing the perfect arcs of falling beans and sugar cubes, to the graceful streams and splashes of coffee and milk frozen in time, no detail was left untouched. It was messy work, but as they say, worth the grind.
A massive shoutout to Phil Kinjerski, who flawlessly combined all these elements into one fantastic image. As a bonus, we created some fun GIFs of Ian's trademark Jordan foam.
