Vitamin Boxes - Color

Vitamin Boxes - Color
Introduction to 3D - January 2010
Problem Brief

Create a series of packaging for Organic Health Vitamin Supplements C, E and b12. We had to decide on the form an design of the packages of the three vitamins so that they would work cohesively in one system. Copy was given to us and had to be used in full. Basing the design off of our final black and white boxes, we were then required to create a 2-color design incorporating imagery.

My Solution

For the color designs, I wanted to have a light feeling to promote the healthiness of the vitamins. I altered the design slightly to better incorporate images. For the imagery, I selected photos of foods that contained the vitamins and chose colors that made sense with the pictures. Instead of using black as my type color, I used a burgundy that complimented the other three colors. Typefaces used are Minion Pro Italic, Helvetica Neue Light, Helvetica Neue Ultra Light, and Helvetica Neue Bold. Colors used are Pantone 188, Pantone 360, Pantone 7480, and Pantone Hexachrome Orange. Designs were printed on to 60 lbs. card stock and constructed into boxes.
