To give an object a new meaning

To give an object a new meaning

The receipt was given a new meaning by putting focus on the consumerism of indoor plants. As the receipt is something we often throw away, it creates a paradox where the solution of one problem creates another problem. How can we design as a method of asking critical questions? What are the human relations to nature?

As a part of the process for my MA thesis the receipt was prototyped in a big scale to look at a normal object but with a content that is not expected. The receipt is put in a new context, out of its normal propotions, and with a message from plants. Here the voice of the plants are put in focus and shows a new perspective. As the object is given a new meaning it sets a focus on consumerism, and our proximity to the natural world.
