Dear Human Master Project

Dear human starts with the assumption that we have distanced ourselves from the natural world. We shape and affect the landscape around us; thus, we have become the landscape. The climate crisis and fast changes in the natural world has resulted in a need to get back to nature.

This project is a series of visual experiments in various formats that aims to give a voice to the voiceless. By borrowing the voice of nature this project invites reflection and makes visible possible interactions and proximity to the biosphere. The goal is not to solve a problem, but rather start dialogue and conversation about relations that are lost.

To give nature a voice the result consists of a variable font that acts as plant's language. The variable font consists of two points, and the variables gives all the variations between these to versions. The font is not understandable for us humans, thus invites us to reflect on the natural world we live in, and our relations to the natural world. This projects aims to invite the audience into a reflection on perspectives, how we can change perspective, and see from someone else's perspective. The result consists of a variable font implemented as a visual identity including various elements such as newspaper, book, textiles, package design, stickers, banners, and posters.
