Apothecary Freestanding Unit Replacement January - February 2021

With the Pandemic our second location closed. We decided to incorporate the larger shelving units into the Apothecary side replacing our freestanding glass shelves and window units. I'm documenting that change here. I completed the merchandising of the front shelves by myself with some assistance physically removing the units from the space and rolling in the new unit. The central unit replacement was sort of rushed. I had some help from the sales associates physically moving product and units around. I would plan the merchandise in a certain area and give the task of filling the shelf to someone who was available. This was all completed while the store was open to customers.

The new unit in the window, empty and merchandised with all the products that were previously there. The new window units are narrower allowing more natural light in the store and have movable glass shelves and wheels for ease of access to the windows. Completed in 1 day.

Some after images. We removed one of the display tables and put in a small rounder featuring multiple brands of bath products at the front of the store. The second rounder holds one of our most shopped fragrance brands and other easily gift-able items. The back 2 glass units were replaced with 2 rounders. We removed a second display table from the back end as well. I was given less time than expected to plan out these unit so I eventually ran out of shelves and had to rework a couple of sections, but in the end everything worked out. I included some flexible space to house brands that have large inventory fluctuations. This project was a major challenge for me, as I am a team of 1 with little time off the sales floor to plan for big moves like this.
