Project inspired by Nendo Studio.

Giving people a small ” ! ” moment.
There are so many small ” ! ” moments hidden in our everyday.

But we don’t recognize them.
and even when we do recognize them, we tend to unconsciously reset our
minds and forget what we’ve seen.

But we believe these small ” ! ” moments are what make our days so
interesting, so rich.

That’s why we want to reconstitute the everyday by collecting and
reshaping them into something that’s easy to understand.

We’d like the people who’ve encountered Nendo’s designs to feel these
small ” ! ” moments intuitively.

I wanted to look into sound for this brief. Looking at the juxtapositions within our audible environments and how they affect our state of minds.

I wanted to draw in a variety of inspirations for the product's interactions and overall "!".
I looked at the heritage of switches and intuitive actions that we do on a day to day to activate the product.

I recorded sounds and edited them together making a soundscape to explore human and nature sounds. I had a few people take part in listening to the sound piece and it was really interesting to hear what people had to say on how they followed the sound journey or if there was any conflict. The main correlation of the feedback was how we struggle to feel present and that a daily practice of meditation/mindfulness can help.
Drawing inspiration from meditation practices it helped me curate the sound in different ways and create a journey.

I feel that city life is so busy for us humans that we are really disconnecting from our natural heritage too much. Our human-made noises are taking over and we are forgetting the importance of really listening to what is around us and appreciate what we have.

The “Journey Box” concept is to take the user into an audio experience that I hope to be a way of mindfulness. Taking inspiration from “quick-break” technology or as we know today “the Switch” a simple interaction that entices and activates the journey and allows your home environment to be filled with sounds.

Thank you very much for taking the time to look through this project.
