Not made for asphalt roads

You might wonder about the strange lighting of this landscape shot. I photographed it in Namibia, near Solitaire. Susanne, my assistant, released the flashlight after I opened the camera shutter for about two seconds. Allthough Susanne is realy pretty I photoshopped  her out of the image.
Hard to believe: The landscape was shot with a 24mm wide angle, for the street shot I used a 70mm light tele lens. Anyway both images fit surprisingly well!
I found the cars in the streets of Berlin. Of course they had not the right reflections and were not lit in an appropriate way. But at least I could pick the right perspective. You can change lighting and reflections, but it´s almost not possible to change the perspective after shooting.
Many cars in desert areas are white (guess why). Using Photoshops curves and layer masks made it easy to change color. But still the image doesn´t seem to make much sense.
Adding lights and shadows makes things a lot better. The lights were painted into an empty Photoshop layer (fill method "normal") and a black layer (fill method "add"). Now you can understand why I needed the flashlight in the landscape shot.
Adding details is so important in order to tell a story. The two people at the left side are 3D characters, the drivers of the Land Rover and the Audi are photographed. The waves are painted in Photoshop and then loaded into the displacement filter. It´s one of my alltime favourite PS tools. Saw the traffic sign on the right side?
