Swansea Schools New Online Look
As some of you may have seen on my profile, I've been mock-up rebranding schools in my Swansea as part of a ‘school improvement plan’ which I have been discussing with my local council. In this product, I've been working on the online elements of the education department. Whilst doing some research, I found out that no all schools in Swansea have a website. In fact only around 35% of them do, which is surprising in this day and age.

So, about the design. I’ve gone for the flat Metro look as I think it’s a clean and simple design which is easy to use as a parent but still attractive to pupils who will also be using the site. One of the main features I wanted to bring in to the design is that all of the pages could be dynamic. Everytime you visit the site it will be different content wise with updated stories and time according backgrounds but the layout will remain the same.
Below is the 'News' Page.
This next feature is pretty neat. It allows staff to easily post news stories on the site with no web experience needed. It's a simple as posting a comment on facebook. Simply choose an apropriate title for the story, chosse a picture either from the library of 200+ customisable pictures or youse your own, an then write your story. Thats it! its as simple as that. below then is a preview of what your post will look like before you publish it for the world to see. If theres a problem for example that the part of the image behind the title is white , then simply drag the image around until you find a part that suits your needs.
Below is an example af all the other colour variations available to match the colour coding of that school.
