Anniversary Party Invitation Concept

High-end invitation concept for a Paris-inspired 50th anniversary party

ABOUT PROJECT:
While working on  the invitations for my Sept. 2013 wedding, I realized that I have sincere love of creating impactful invitations for special events. While I occasionally have had the opportunity to work on projects like this for my employers, budget limitations and the 'design by committee' approach often leads to drastic changes to my inital concepts and plans. The invitation below is an example of what I offer my clients as a first draft concept. In the case of this invitation, the 'event' is a 50th Anniversary send-off dinner at a formal French restaurant. Completed in Fall 2013.
ALL THAT GLITTERS IS GOLD (FOIL):
The invitation would consist of three primary elements: a small decorative folder, the invitation and an RSVP card. For paper stocks, I would choose the deliciously tactile Crane Lettra Pearl White 110C for the invitation and RSVP card. The folder would be constructed from die-cut Curious Metallics Chocolate 92C, a dark paper similar in color and luster to Eiffel Towe iron.
The folder's exterior would be printed with a white tinted varnish for the Eiffel Tower and Paris embellishments. The printing would provide a sublte yet dramaticly elegent effect by dulling out the metallic effect of the Curious sotck. The words 'Fiftieth Anniversary Celebration' would be foil stamped in a shimmering Antique Gold foil.
QUALITY FEEL:
Simple Pearl White Envelopes (Crane Lettra 32W) would provide continuity to the interior stocks. As a side benefit of this decsion, the Crane paper, which is essentially the same all-cotton stock on which United States currency is printed, will hold up exceptionally well in the mail.
MIXED PRINTING ADDS TO APPERANCE:
Typeface slections of Futura and Bickham Script provide the necessary elegance and European flair for this distinct event. To continue the luxurious effect, the invitations would be printed in a combination of letterpress and metallic foil stamp. The words set in Futura would be deeply pressed into the paper using a warm chocolate ink to mirror the Curious Metallics paper stock of the folder. The gold words would jump off the sheet using the same Antique Gold metallic foil from the folder's ornamentation.
