LOSS of LANDMARKS - 2021

Design and manufacture of a wooden cleats labyrinth. Sculpture on the theme of the loss of landmarks.
Inspired by the Neolithic monument "Stonehenge" ( Salisbury - UK ) and the shape of the QR code.

This construction evokes an enormous contemporary city and complex by its density. The cleats rise like skyscrapers on the square surface. The eye is lost by the differences in the size of the wooden cleats. Unlike Stonehenge's circular composition, everything here is in angles, straight lines, and perpendiculars.
It is a city where the exits are numerous, but don't lead to anything except a ledge that goes around the sculpture. We are therefore doomed to wander around the city or inside, in the shadow of the large wooden cleat structures.
With this sculpture, I wanted to draw a parallel between those Neolithic men who sought to connect to the cosmos with stone architecture and raised their eyes to the sky, as in our time we walk through the city with our eyes riveted on our phone, searching for answers, always the same answers, by scanning QR codes.
