Spellbound is an educational iPad app that teaches children how to spell using letter groupings. Each child creates a custom character upon registration. Through tests and various spelling games, users can earn points for their avatar which may be redeemed for gear, pets, or other animated additions. Children can share and compare their achievements with other users approved by their teacher or guardian. Furthermore, instructors are able to customize lessons using the app’s dictionary tool where they can search and swap words from the default lesson plans. They may also track the progress and interactions of each child within their network using the student grade book page.
