The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King is an acclaimed film based on the books in the series The Lord of the Rings, written by J. R. R. Tolkien. Concludes the trilogy together with the films The Fellowship of the Ring (2001) and The Two Towers (2002). One of the biggest box office in history, it won 11 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director (Peter Jackson) and Best Adapted Screenplay.
